    Description

"THE NINE DAYS WONDER" is an INCREDIBLE collection of personal accounts of the miracle at Dunquerque written right after the even in 1941. British airborne troops parachuting down; playing football on the sand while they awaited rescue; dark masses of men stretching the length of the shore and into the water; the RAF attacking 50 German planes from a single Spitfire fighter; a cleryman holding services on the beach under a dive-bomber barrage, and the rescue of 316,663 lives! It was called "Operation Dynamo" and here from those who participated and from those who were rescued fresh after the even in 1941, the event being in late May and early June 1940. This is a VERY VERY HARD BOOK TO FIND!
Book is HARDBACK with DUSTJACKET and protective plastic cover published in 1941. It is in VERY GOOD CONDITION, measures 5 1/4" x 7 5/8" and contains 65 pages with 4 pages of 12 photographs.
