NEW = like from a store..sometimes I will put items in this category that may actually be a few years old, but cannot be distinguished (by most people) from something you would buy new.
EXCELLENT =   Used very gently.
VERY GOOD = there is normal wear.  But the looks nice.
GOOD = there are some flaws, but the item is still functional
