Description
In 1977, one of the true 'barnstormers' in show business history, Bill Sargent, formed a company called Special Event Entertainment (SEE). Mr. Sargent pioneered both 'pay-tv' and 'closed-circuit theatre showings'. The company beamed events...concerts..ballets..theatrical plays and musicals..into 500 theatres at a time. This scarce, original 1978 brochure, sent only to theatre owners, features 3 double page ads for his events for that year, with The Rolling Stones being the inaugural act. The ad features the famous "Lips & Tongue" logo, designed by top British art designer, John Pasche. There are also double page ads for Sammy Davis Jr in a theatrical performance of "Stop the World I want To Get Off', and a ballet, 'Gayane', featuring the Riga-Latvia, USSR ballet corps. Only a few hundred of these would have been printed with the attrition rate quite high. 9.5 x 12 closed, 12 pages in length, very good and clean, light corner creasing. Unique addition to collection.
