Receiver Has 12 Buttons With A Switch To Turn The Ringer On Or Off - There Is A Small Red Button To The Left Of The Numbers That Hangs Up The Call When Depressed - White Coiled Cord With Phone Jack On End - Marked As "Model No 1040" - Standard Jack: RJ11C Or RJ11W - Small Piece Of Cardboard In The Rectangular Slot Above The Number Buttons, Where The Receiver Catches On The Mount
Mount Has A Shallow Impression On The Back For Wall Hanging On A Nail - Mount Also Has 4 Small Rubber Feet For Sitting On A Tabletop - Maker's Mark And Copyrighrt Date On Back - Small Red Plastic Catch For Receiver Inside Mouth

Used - THE PHONE IS TESTED AND WORKS - I hooked the receiver up to a phone jack, and I got a dial tone - However, I was unable to make a phone call - Since this was made in the early 1980's, I am wonder if some part of the technology is incompatible with present-day technology and needs to be updated or not (or even if this is a viable possibility) - I am no telecommunications expert, but I did carefully take the phone apart and check the connections - The inside is clean, all connections appear to be secure, no part seem to be degraded or corroded, and nothing appears to my eye to look suspect on the interior - I have included numerous photographs of the interior
Some light scratches and scuffs in the plastic from age and handling - No noticeable large or deep scratches/gauges - No color loss or discoloration on the red plastic - The white teeth and accents are painted, and therefore have some minor paint/color loss, with two small spots on the ends of the teeth - No chips, flakes, cracks or breaks in the plastic
The 4 small rubber feet are in good condition - No dry rotting or chipping
The plastic catch mechanism is tight and secure
The receiver's hang up button is viable and in good working order
No color/paint loss to the number buttons and dial pad
Cord is in excellent condition with no breaks, bends, tears or splits in the cord - There are a few tiny discoloration spots, but this white cord remains mostly clean
Telephone jack connector is complete and in working order
Overall good condition
