    Description

A beautiful custom Australian gold record award for the Rolling Stones 1971 classic album
    Sticky Fingers
, presented to guitarist Mick Taylor.  This was part of Stones bassist Bill Wyman's legendary Rolling Stones archive.
Sticky Fingers was a #1 album around the world, including Australia. The Stones' Australian label, WEA Records Pty. Limited. presented each band member an attractive custom award with an 'outback' theme--the disc and brass plate are attached to the wood panel backing using bent 'old time' nails. The plate reads "Presented to Mick Taylor by WEA Records Pty. Limited for Australian Sales of Sticky Fingers in Excess of ,000."
Bill Wyman, a legendary collector of his band's memorabilia, ended up with Mick Taylor's award, as well as his own.  We acquired this award in the Julien's Auctions sale
    Bill Wyman's Rolling Stones Archive.
The gold plated album on the award is the actual metal "mother" used to manufacture Side 1 of
    Sticky Fingers
(with the stamped matrix numbers A MX 164189 and COC-591100-1.)  On the back of the award Bill Wyman has handwritten a catalog number for his reference.
In excellent condition, with some scuffing to the disc. 15" x 20”
With the original auction card, hang tag, and Recordmecca's written lifetime guarantee of authenticity, noting the extraordinary provenance.  An extremely rare opportunity to own a Rolling Stones award for one of their most acclaimed albums, presented to one band member, and owned for many years by another.
