    A piece of Rock and Roll History!!  An insider look at the way things were unfolding in the Los Angeles music world in the late 1960s , as well as Vietnam and the Hippie Movement. An Original typed manuscript by Jerry Hopkins from late summer of 1966 into 1968 hard cover, containing 246 pages.The first page of the Journal is the Main photo pictured above and on of the final pages in the journal is when Jerry is thinking of taking The Publishing Editor job with the then newly formed ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE also the invention of the "Happy Button" which Jerry was selling from the first headshop in Los Angeles that he named Headquarters and much much more. A rolller coaster ride of the contemporaneous daily musings and notes of interactions with celebrities and musicians. During the almost 2 years covered in this manuscript, Mr Hopkins was writing about the culture of LA and SF, as well as the day to day management of running a head shop, while making a name for himself in the music and entertainment world. Contents: Jerry Hopkins interacted with a long list of notable celebrities and musicians between 1966-68. Many of these he has direct interactions with and is mentioned in the manuscript. They include: JAN WENNER, JIM MORRISON, GEORGE HARRISON, PAUL MCCARTNEY, DAVID CROSBY, STEVEN STILLS, TERI GARR , PETER FONDA, FRANK ZAPPA, TONI BASIL, MICKEY DOLENZ, ART LINKLETTER, CHAD AND JEREMY, HARRISON FORD, THE DOORS , THE MONKEES , BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD, JEFFERSON AIRPLANE, COUNTY JOE AND THE FISH, CANNED HEAT, THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION, THE KALEIDOSCOPE and other noteworthy LA and SF based writers,rock groups, producers ,club owners also included 2 folders filled with hand written notes / research on celebrities RAQUEL WELSH and YOKO ONO (which resulted in a published book in 1986) ... ....Jerry Hopkins Renowned Author of early, critically acclaimed  biographies of ELVIS PRESLEY, JIM MORRISON, JIMI HENDRIX, YOKO ONO,and DAVID BOWIE. Owner of one of the first head shops In Los Angeles known as "HEADQUARTERS"... About the author....Jerry published 39 books in total and more than 1000 articles. He spent more than 20 years as corresponding and contributing editor for ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE. His biography of JIM MORRISON "NO ONE HERE GETS OUT ALIVE" Was And Is A Best Seller and was used to create the factual parts of Oliver Stones  1991 film 'THE DOORS". The year 1966 Jerry opened one of Los Angeles first head shops, emceed a LOVE-IN and in the beginning of 1967 became one of the writers for the then new ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE, while also writing for THE LOS ANGELES FREE PRESS and other publications. In 1968 he edited a collection, in book form called THE HIPPIE PAPERS. IN 1970 he followed that volume up with A ROCK STORY , an early history of music. IN 1969 Jerry Hopkins took a leave from ROLLING STONE to author ELVIS: A BIOGRAPHY , the first comprehensive biography of the iconic singer, published in 1971...I will discuss delivery with anyone that is a potential buyer.
